missing home :-( / looking after horses :-)

Now that i am in Thurso College im hardly ever at home. So i dont get to see my horses half as much as i used to, but the holidays are coming up which i am very pleased about i can go and spend as much time with them as i can. Missing them loads, Frankie is also coming home so all the others will be happy to see him aswell.
Since i have been away soo much i think i should be getting everyone a treat for christmas, am sure they will all be needing somthing anyway keeping horses is not an easy or cheap job.
If your thinking about buying a horse/pony you should consider what all you need and how much its going to cost as its continuously putting money out all the time for vets bills,farrier,feed,rugs,insurance and new equipment and tack every so often i am allways skint. A lot of people just think that all you need is a field and to buy the horse and they are very wrong, horses also need alot of attention and effort, thats where i am lucky as i may not be at home all the time but my auntie and uncle keep my horses along with there own so all of them get the attention they need.
In the winter horses need alot more attention as its getting colder so more rugs are needed ,alot more feed is used aswell with you having to provide alot of hay too.
Lokking after horses is a really big job to do but people who have them will know that it is a very rewarding job and i wouldent change it for the world and thats why i have chosen to study it so i can make my prospects of a career in this field better.
