>>>to the right is Frankie and Hayley
FUNTIME FRANKIE is the name, he's my friend Hayleys horse and also stays at our yard sometimes, hes just a baby at only 4 years old. D.O.B 1st april 2002. He's 15hh piebald cob x, and absoulutely gorgeous, such a sweety who makes everyone laugh when he does his cheeky manovers but when you go to give him a row he gives kisses how could you possibly stay angry?.
Putting that all aside he is great to ride, has lovely paces and very bold jump, very high expectations of him. Hayley bought Frankie when he was three and a half and broke him on her own with a little help from her auntie.
At the moment he's at college with us in Thurso, we attend the North Highland college doing equestrian and buisness studies so Frankie was allowed to come stay at the college yard so that he could be used for everyone to learn to ride on, as he's so quiet natured he's a great confidence giver but he has his moments and likes to winde hayley up at times like dragging her through doors.
After Christmas he may be coming home due to the fact that people take advantage of Frankies gentelness and were caught climbing onto his back from the ground without a saddle or bridle, taking pictures and videos. Hayley was really upset as the girl doing it was too big for him and Frankie has had previous back problems, and remembering he is only 4 he will still be developing.
Well thats all about Frankie for now. x

A bIt aBoUt tHe sTuD.

My uncle Euan and his fiancee run the stud just outside beauly on the muir of ord straight, they at the moment have the two stallions Fun and Maddok, both welsh ponies as the stud we have mainally consists of welsh ponies altho there is a few others as you can see in my other posts. We use are stallions on our own mares to produce high quality foals, which we will either keep and break or sell as foals, but also welcome other mares from all around the country to come and visit to be covered.
As Natalie is a riding instructor she likes to keep some of the best foals to break and school to then sell ready to be worked and shown although these will be more expensive then they are allways very well schooled and should be suitable for adults and children to work with although all horses and ponies have different temperaments not all will be suitable for a child wihh may not have the experience to handle them.
When visiting mares come to stay there are usually at ours for around three weeks so that they can either run with the stallion or be covered by him every about twice but maybe more so we can be sure the mare is in foal, could not come back into season after the three weeks. T o do this it will be quite expensive as you would have to pay for the keeping of the mare while its staying with us and then the fee for the mare to be covered wich will be around £300 approx.

Jasmine
Barkway Swansong
Was my other pony which i got to compete on as polly was getting old and was well in need of retirement. Jasmine was also a welsh pony, liver chestnut 12.2hh mare she was a lovely pony although she had her moments. After we got her i couldn't wait to get on her, but then when i tied there was something not right as she seemed to be frightened as i tried to mount and when i did she was clearly in pain. We then got the chiropractor out to see her and her hip was out of place and some of her back bones were to, he managed to fix it but it became a regular thing and every time we would notice that there was something wrong usually resulted in me getting thrown off, this gave my confidence a real knock after everything polly had given me. So we then decided to take her out of work and leave her as a brood mare, we bred 2 foals from her and then she was sold to carry on producing top quality foals.

Possible newcomer

Dove

Dove is a highland x thoroughbred mare, dun in colour with a black and cream mane and tail. She is 15.2hh and 12 years old, her owner who has had her since she was a foal has worked with here all her life but now has small children and hasn't got enough time to do anything with her, her children are also too small to ride her. The lady offered her to natalie my auntie for me as i am at thurso college doing equestrian studies and at the moment haven't got my own horse to practise on for my bhs exams, Dove is a very quiet well mannered horse whom has competed in many shows and pony club games and rallies so would be perfect for giving confidence to any rider. At the moment were considering whether to take her or not as she would have to come to college with me in thurso to stay at the yard that we learn on but at present the yard is full and it would be unfair to be left at home. Maybe at thew start of the Christmas holidays would be the best time to take her on as then i am at home to look after her and get her back into work.
